"Born September 22 1977 in Kansas City, Kansas. Josh attended Stony Point South Elementary through the fourth grade before transferring to Basehor-Linwood High School. This is where he met Jeremy McDowell (co-owner of Midwest Sports Productions and Executive VP of USSSA Fastpitch), and became long-time friends. Josh started T-ball at age six with Coach Dennis Patterson Josh continued to play on Patterson's team until he was fifteen, skipping only one year to play for Coach Mike McDowell on Kan-Gas. Josh made the varsity baseball team as a freshman and played all four years at Basehor while earning 1st Team All-League, 2nd Team All-Area, 1st Team All-Area and 2nd Team All-State. After high school, Josh went on to continue his baseball career at Longview Community College.
Josh's love for the game started at an early age. At age three, he started watching the Cubs religiously. He also loved the Red Sox, and eventually the Kansas City Royals (who he never gave up on). His all- time favorite player was Roger Clemens and always made it his goal to emulate Clemens' pitching style. Josh was also a true KU Basketball and Chiefs fan, and was a season ticket holder for several years. His passion was best demonstrated on the night of his eighth grade graduation. He also had a baseball game, and was given the choice... baseball game or graduation? If anyone knew Josh, you know he of course picked baseball, and in turn missed the graduation. Overall, Josh supported a variety of teams and his passion for sports still continues to inspire the staff at Midwest Sports Productions. Truly the most memorable experience was when Josh was a senior and Jeremy was a freshman. For the first time in their lives, they were on the same team. The first baseball game of the season for Basehor-Linwood and they got to walk onto the field together. Josh's Dad, Jerry, got to the field two hours early to get a good seat. They had not even marked the field. One proud Dad. Josh loved family get-togethers, and his nephew and nieces loved and adored "funny Uncle Josh.""
